Here we go again.Another build.
This one has some special wood involved.
All the way from New Guinea. This is some nice stuff

Unfortunately it was only a rough cut 6" wide
Not wide enough to just joint 2 pieces to make a body.
I also found that the board had a small bend and arc to it
After I finally got it planed flat and jointed I was still a hair narrow, even with an extra piece jointed in the center.
You can see here on the edges at the hips,it's just a bit narrow
Not much I can do but shape it after I route it
Here is a close-up of the great color of the wood
Off to the router
After a few passes and some shaping on the sander,as Lily would say
Tada !!

Pretty cool looking stuff
You can see the right hip is a tad smaller than the left
Looks OK though

Man this is cool looking wood
The plan is a rear route it,with a hard tail bridge and dual Humbuckers
Not going to be a lot of TWANG in this tele
Got a bit more accomplished tonight
Not a lot more I can do until we decide on pickups, etc
I did the ferrule holes

Then I decided to get to work on the rear route
I measured everything out and drilled the holes where the pots will
come through the top.No turning back now

OK
Out with the router

Lots of room in there
Ok,lets get them cavities routed
Time to start with some sealer to get that grain filled

This really makes the colors pop
Just a update.
Because of the bug situation around here, any kind
of finishing has ground to a hault
I finally managed to get some more sealer on
The grain is starting to fill

Because this is going to have double humbuckers
I want to go with a hardtail bridge but kind of keep
it vintage tele style.I think I found the answer
