A while back I received some New Guinea Rosewood from a guy to build him a body
This is wonderful looking stuff.Lots of different colors.
I had some leftovers, unfortunately nothing big enough for a body.
With the great results of the Lamicaster,I decided to try to use up
the leftovers.I picked the three best matching pieces for the top.
To get some thickness,I added a figured maple lamination in
the center, kinda like Fender did, only thicker to give
me some thickness. It turned out really nice.
I skipped the actual build pics because I was unsure of
what the results would be.I will keep on posting as I finish it.
I will be adding this to the store because it has no home at the moment
Here are some pics
Front

Back
A few different angles

After some more sanding,I needed to wipe it down
to make sure I got all the glue off and to see how it looked
This is pretty much a good representation of how
it will look with a clear finish. You can really see the colors

Not just too sure how to finish this. Some nasty grain here
This sealer I have here works really well,as good as grain filler
and much nicer to work with.I give it a coat to to empty
my gun after spraying the figured maple body.
We will see just how this stuff works.
If nothing else it will protect it from any dings and scratches while I am routing it.

Back to this one for a bit
Since I got sealer in my gun for a couple other builds
I decided to give this a couple more coats
I sanded back this first coat and hit it again

The colors are really starting to show

This one now is getting a new home
It is going to be routed like a traditional tele and finished in clear lacquer
A couple more coats of sealer

Finally getting the grain filled to where I can almost start lacquer
This girl has a new home
Now I can route it

The new owner has decided on a maple neck with Pau Ferro fingerboard
I set this one on so he could get an idea how it will look

A couple more coats of sealer and we are ready for lacquer

Have been waiting for some special hardware for this
Didn't want to do any lacquer until I was finished routing for it
It showed up today and WOW
Vince at Taipan Tone makes some amazing stuff
This stuff is all milled solid brass
Unbelievable quality and craftsmanship

Matches well with the rest of the hardware

Neck is on the way too!
This should look pretty good!!
As mentioned the neck arrived
After the first coat of TruOil

A very nice flame maple Pau Ferro neck!!!
The GuineaCaster gets her first coat of lacquer!!

And the first coat of tinted TruOil on the neck
