OK,got my coffee and were off

This thing is going to be pretty quiet without an output jack

Better get it drilled before I continue with sanding

Get it measured out marked

I countersunk it so it fits nice and flush

Electrosockets are so much nicer than the original Tele output jacks

The originals always work loose. These with the 2 screws never come loose

 Here it is,nice and flush

Hmmm, somehow I managed not to get it centered

It's pretty close but I can tell

Not much I can do about it now

Well the output jack wont do any good if I can't get the wires from the

pickups to the control cavity.Out with the little bit

The ruler is to protect the top just in case

We have a hole

Sanding,Sanding and more sanding

Now that pretty much all the cavities, holes etc are done,I can concentrate

on sanding. There are some glue runs from the binding that have to be taken

care of before I can even think about putting a clear finish on.This is

tough on the fingers.Sanding along the binding, trying not to scratch

it up too bad.A few scratches are OK because I can scrape them out in the

final scraping.Up around the horn and neck pocket are the worst, and it always

seems like this is where the runs are the worst.Probably because it's the

hardest spot to put the binding on so a little extra glue is used.

Well after a couple hours, and some tired pinkies,I think we pretty much have it.

I will go over the entire body with at least 320 grit, maybe even up to 600 to

get it super smooth before the topcoat. The smoother I can get it now the better

Here are a few shots.Remember the binding hasn't been scraped much yet.

Just a bit to get the worst of the glue off.

Before the pics I give it a quick wipe with mineral spirits. This should represent

a clear finish.Any glue I missed should show up a different color

Looks pretty good. This also should be close to the color it will

be when it is finished

So Barney, hows it look so far?

Tonight was an evening of binding scraping and more sanding

Got it pretty much ready I think

Just have to soften up the edge of the binding a bit

Well I didn't get anything done today.

Long day with the daughter at the dentist

I need some rest, back to work tomorrow.

It's good to take a break, step back and have a look

Well we spent the night workin on the Grey T and

then did some finish work on the binding

I took a utility knife blade and softened up the edges

and then hit it with some 600 grit paper

Looks pretty good.A couple spots need a bit more but

overall A++

Did a little work on the f-hole too

 Woo-Hoo

Great news

Got a call from my lady at the hardware store

My Deft come in.I was getting worried. It was on backorder

There are other kinds of lacquer but I am use to this stuff

and didn't want to have to try something new on this

I will give it another going over tonight

If all goes and looks good, maybe the first coat tonight!!!!!!!!

 Well,another once over

Got the paint stick ready to screw on

I put a shim under the stick so the finish wont seal the stick

to the body

Then screw it down

(Told you I would put on lots of pics)

Well hang her up and wipe it down with naptha

Then wipe it down again

I like to have them laying flat for the first few coats

Easier to do the edges

Well this is the part I hate

Stand back and have another look

Have I sanded it enough?

Did I miss anything?

Hmmm,Page 5?
