That first page was getting a bit long so I decided to start page 2
First thing is to buff out the headstock and get the tuner bushings installed
I used the drill press to push them in,worked pretty slick

Now one thing I noticed when I went to install the tuners
There are a couple tabs on the back that keep the tuners from sitting flat
on the headstock.I presume they were just sucked into the wood with the screws but...
I am a little concerned that the little screws might twist off or strip out, that would be my luck so...
I turned the tuners over and marked the tabs with a sharpie

Then I put the tuner in place and pressed it in position

That left sharpie tracks on the wood.I then took a small drill bit and did a little
countersink to help the tabs sit in the maple
Then I was able to install the tuners

I marked a drill bit with tape to make sure I did not drill too deep
Drilling through would suck

And there we are,tuners installed
Now it's time for the nut
I ordered a slotted Tusq nut but it was a bit thick for the nut slot
What a crappy pic
Nothing a little sandpaper wont fix
It's a bit wide too,hmmmm
Well I have blank nuts here if the strings are too close to the edges of the fretboard
This will work for lining up though
Now it is time to clean the lacquer out of the neck pocket
A utility knife blade works good for this
Now I stick on the neck and bridge to see how we line up
Since everything looks to be lining up I took the guard and put some
copper shielding tape on the back
I also give the pickup cavities and the control cavity a coat of shielding paint
Got the pickups out but decided to call it a night
The shielding paint needs to dry and got to check to see if SP made it to Seattle
Well SP showed up,actually early
We checked out the bass and then did a few things on it
It has been a long day for every one
Today we are having a big dinner and then it's back to work on the bass

Back home and back to work
SP made a new friend

Well we got it all buffed out

I had to put SP to work

We hit a few snags, but she is together now

Now it's off to my New Years Gig
SP is coming along, and bringing the new bass
All set up and ready for action

SP and my mom wowing the crowd with some old time country dance songs

SP taking a well deserved break

This was your good old time country family dance
Our photographer seemed to miss SP and his bass in all the pics
Here we are just before the 12:00 countdown

What an amazing last few days
Great to see SP again and have him come play
He will be heading back to Calgary in the morning and heading home
This was one special build!!!!
