Here is the first of two left handed t style bodies I will be doing
These will be made from swamp ash
This one is to be a natural finish
Here we are routed and ready to contour
This one is to have some contours
Nothing like a Strat but just smooth out the lines
add a small tummy cut
Lets get the routing done
Some ferrule holes
Pickup and control cavities
Out with the sanders
Time for some sealer and grain filler
This part sucks
Ash has some pretty stubborn grain, but it looks cool
A quick mock-up
A shot out in the natural light
Well more filler and sealer
We are about ready to start clearing it
Lets get some clear on this, and hopefully no bugs
A nice even coat and no bugs. There were a few bumps
so I give it a wetsanding
Nice and level now
Another coat
With the flash
Just a quick mock-up of how it is going to be set up
After a couple more coats of lacquer I give it a good
wetsanding to get rid of a few bumps
All buffed out
Now just have to wait for the rest of the parts
A nice custom neck plate
Picked up 2 different bridges
Not sure what we are going to use yet
Got the rest of the parts!!!
This is the first WD neck I have used.Actually looks pretty good
It will need some minor shaping on the heel
Also needs some shaping on the fretboard extension, pretty square
As are the edges of the fingerboard
Going to get a light tint too!!!
